Commonly set to the text “Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven”, this hymn made the cut for my wedding processional, in the form of an arrangement used at a Royal Coronation. My fabulous organist didn’t bat an eye at the absolute micro-managing of the arrangements…

Billed as an introduction, I could see for this as an interlude as well. It’s brief with a short trumpet introduction by Dale Krider.

This introduction by Robert Hobby scratches my itch for a grand opening for a grand hymn.
Reharmonization/Descant
I personally play the 4th verse straight out of the Hymnal 1982 and have my soprano sing the corresponding descant.
The Wedding Pick – Richard Warner (Introduction, Reharmonization, and Tag)
Despite using it for my wedding, it’s not my go-to for congregational accompaniment. Nothing wrong with it, just not my first choice! It’s by Richard Warner and was extraordinarily difficult to find. I think I bought it off some random EBay seller. I see now that a version exists for sale – maybe in my pre-wedding hysteria I missed it.

This solo is worth learning for its own sake, but certainly has some excerptible moments.

Our hero, hymnsfororgan.org has both an introduction and reharmonization for this tune. They are less dense than other interpretations, perfect for a more stripped down interpretation.

This arrangement begins in Dflat and modulates to D – it’s very accessible and voiced high.

I can’t speak much to this arrangement – decided against buying it for now, but love to hear reviews!

Set to the text “Alleluia, Song of Gladness”, this appears to be a good option for those looking for an alternative for the final verse.
